Anthony Robles won the hearts of wrestling fans and Americans nationwide when he won an NCAA title at 125 in 2011. Now there is talk about the possibility of him getting involved in MMA. He used to get asked about the possibility of getting into mma when he was in college and he told people that if there was a 125lbs class that he would be in, now there is a 125lbs class.

Personally I think that he could have the potential to do really well. If you think about his wrestling style and apply it to fighting it makes sense. When in the neutral position in wrestling most of the time he wrestled on a knee. If he fights that way then his opponents will be limited because they will not be able to kick or knee him in the head. Additionally this would help him close the distance and get a hold of his opponents more easily. From there I feel like he could dominate on the ground. For one his upper body is probably as strong as a welterweight or middle weight, and secondly just like in wrestling, it is tough to train for submission fighting against a guy with just one leg.

For now he is a busy guy who is still focused on motivational speaking but it is something that is in his head and he is informally training for. How would you feel about Anthony Robles getting involved in mixed martial arts and how do you think he would do?
